Abby Schoning was named Franklin County Fair Queen Thursday.
Schoning is the daughter of Dave Schoning and Dacia Schoning, and is finishing her junior year at West Fork. Schoning on being named fair queen in 2025.
“I’m so excited to get to serve the Franklin County community here. I love people and I hope that I get to learn a lot from this community and grow as a person. I am so grateful to get to work with such a great group of girls. I could not have asked for better candidates to run with. I had so much fun at all of the parades that we went to and everything leading up to this day here today and I hope I get to hang out them a lot more at (the) fair this week.”
First runner-up was Jana Harms of Sheffield, the daughter of Jeremy and Sara Harms. Second runner-up and Miss Congeniality was Alycia Martinez of Hampton, the daughter of Amy Wilkinson-Busby and Lyle Busby. Jaslene Tevalan of Hampton, the daughter of Jessica and Aurelio Aburto, was named Miss Photogenic.
Other royalty crowned Thursday included Jiada Sochit as Little Miss. Jiada is the daughter of Britt Lumley. Hannah Swieter, the daughter of Jacob and Stephanie Swieter, was crowned as Little Princess. Pierson Dirksen, the son of Sarah Dirksen, was named Little Mister.
