The Hardin County Board of Supervisors Wednesday discussed the Region 6 Housing Trust Fund Program. Region 6 has historically worked with the Hardin supervisors to secure local match funding for housing initiatives. The program primarily serves vulnerable demographics, including 2-person households with disabled minors, elderly females, and females with minor children, who are owner-occupiers struggling to maintain their homes.
Region 6 has requested the Hardin supervisors provide $20,702 of local assistance, however, committing funds for the next fiscal year’s budget is challenging due to unknown state mandates regarding county levies.
Discussions are ongoing to find alternative ways to generate the local match.
No action was taken by the Hardin County Board of Supervisors.
