The drought conditions are fading in Iowa.

The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report shows that through Tuesday morning, over 63 percent of the state was listed as being drought free, up over 6 percent from the previous week.

The coverage areas for the abnormally dry and moderate drought categories also dropped, with 3-point-61 percent of Iowa listed as being in a moderate drought.

One year ago, 99-point-19 percent of Iowa was drought free.
