Sunday before 2am the Iowa State Patrol initiated a pursuit of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed within the city limits of Clear Lake.
The vehicle, a 2015 Ford Focus, driven by 22-year-old Zachary Hill of Forest City, was actively attempting to elude law enforcement, when he lost control and struck a tree, then struck an unoccupied house, and two parked vehicles at the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Shore Drive.
Hill died from injuries sustained in the accident.
