The Dumont City Council last week decided to forward a proposed ordinance amendment to the city attorney for review concerning the definition of a vicious animal.
Right now, the city ordinance will allow up to three different animal attacks in a year, but the Dumont council wants to drop that to one animal attack in a year, when determining if the animal in question is vicious.
In other business, the Dumont council approved a resolution authorizing abandonment proceedings for the city to obtain the title of the property at 523 Bickford Street.
The city council also authorized mosquito spraying in Dumont for this week and next week.
