The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was called out Wednesday at 4:32pm for a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 65 and county road B-60 at Rockwell.
A 2005 Pontiac G6 driven by 24-year-old Madellanie Bailey of Hampton was traveling southbound on Highway 65 when she failed to yield, and collided with a 2017 GMC Acadia SLT driven by 34-year-old Heidi Parker of Rockwell. Parker was stopped in the roadway and was making a left hand turn onto B-60.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries, with Parker transported by private vehicle to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
Bailey was cited for failing to reduce speed in time to avoid the collision.
Assisting agencies were the Rockwell Police Department, and Rockwell Fire and EMS.
