Last week, a new docuseries titled “Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit”, began to air on Hulu.
The 3 part series highlighted a tip from a friend of Jodi’s, which led to a 2024 police search in Winsted, Minnesota. The friend contacted Mason City Police after viewing a 2022 episode of “20/20” about Jodi’s abduction on June 27th, 1995.
However, the FindJodi.com website is reporting that this was not the first time Jodi’s friend had come forward. The woman also had shared her suspicions in conversation with FindJodi’s co-founder Gary Peterson 18 years ago. Peterson’s notes from June 2007 indicate that the friend told him she had previously reported her concerns to Mason City Police.
The Winsted search yielded no human remains, while an investigator with the Mason City Police Department revealed some information in the docuseries, to clear up misinformation, including that no DNA has been obtained from the crime scene or Jodi’s apartment, but they do have some items they plan to test for DNA.
