The severe storms that struck the local area Monday night into Tuesday morning had the Mason City Fire Department very busy.
Several calls for service came in between 12:38am-1:06am Tuesday, including a house fire at 1636 North Delaware Avenue.
Upon arrival, flames were showing from a large portion of the house. All occupants were outside. The fire was extinguished quickly, keeping it from spreading further into the house.
The cause for the house fire and the other calls for service were blamed on lightning strikes.
