The IGCA has announced this year’s softball E. Wayne Cooley “You Can” Award winners. The “You Can” Award illustrates the qualities of determination, character and the values of Pursuing Victory With Honor.

Brooke Bohlen of Clarksville was recognized after being nominated by Head Coach Katie Burman. In the nomination, Burman said that Bohlen “was thrown all over in different positions this year, and never once complained or questioned why. She was always willing to communicate positively, cheered on her teammates to the fullest, and really owned her role this year. Every chance she got- whether it was defensively or offensively, Brooke proved herself and showed great character.”

South Hardin’s Ada Bolson was recognized. In the nomination, Head Coach Becky Rosonke said that Bolson “is always positive and cheers for everyone on her team. She is a hard worker, is coachable, and isn’t afraid to ask questions. Ada is always looking for ways to improve her skills, and gives 100 percent in everything that she does.”

To be chosen for the award, the athlete must show the elements of good character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship). Any athlete who influenced their team in a positive manner while demonstrating great character, overcoming great odds or sacrifice is eligible.
