The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball team last month concluded a tough season at 1-21, but there is positivity in the program as they will look to continue to rebuild for 2026. Head Coach Jill Stanton on what the program is looking forward to.

“We’ve got some young girls coming up. Our middle school group, they ended up, I believe their record was 18-4. We’ve got some positivity coming up. We’ve got some energy. We got some confidence. I think those eighth graders next year are gonna add to this team,” says Stanton. “Hopefully we get more depth, we get a little more competition at positions, that push these girls to want to excel, want to win and want to work a little bit harder. I think the future for Clarion-Goldfield-Dows looks good. It just takes time, building a program.”

The Cowgirls, after graduating three seniors, are projected to return 14 players next year. Projected returners include incoming senior Kayla Hasty who led the team with a .213 avg, incoming senior Adelynn Howell with team-best seven RBIs and incoming junior Tess Wibholm in the circle who had 56 strikeouts this past season.
