The Rowan City Council met Monday, beginning with a closed session permitted under Iowa law to discuss legal strategy related to ongoing or potential litigation.

During the regular meeting, council members approved financials and heard updates on several ongoing issues. Work on the REC building roof is expected to begin in the coming weeks, pending weather and delivery of special-order materials. On septic matters, repairs were completed at a Main Street property, while a separate issue on Duffy Street will require further excavation. A building permit for a chain link fence at a residence on Duffy Street was also approved.

Maintenance updates included mowing and spraying at city facilities and a bathroom fan issue at the community center that will require an electrician.
