The Grundy Center girls tennis team will begin its season Thursday by hosting Nevada for a non-conference dual.
The Spartans are coming off a spring season where they went 2-10. With six players on the roster, five gained valuable experience at varsity singles last season.
Nevada went 5-6 in the spring, and only graduated two players who played varsity singles. They won 9-0 when the teams met last season, and have won three straight duals in the series.
