UPDATED to correct location:
Note from district Business Manager, Jon Kies below:
Due to the ongoing construction at the elementary school, we will be having our meeting at the high school media center tonight at 7pm. I made a mistake on the agenda that was previously sent out regarding the location.
ORIGINAL story below:
The Eldora-New Providence School Board meets tonight (Aug. 11) with an agenda that was updated yesterday (Sun) that includes a vote on a new English Language Arts curriculum for grades 6–11. The proposal recommends the 2025 Edition of Savvas myPerspectives, the first major ELA update in over 15 years. Chosen after an 18-month review and pilot process, the program is aligned to the Iowa Core, grounded in reading research, and designed to engage all learners. The $30,000-plus investment for E-NP covers six years of materials, averaging about $21 per student annually.
Other agenda items include sharing agreements, staff contracts, attorney and depository selection, and summer project updates. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the district office in Eldora.
