Drivers in north central and central Iowa are being urged to use caution this morning as patchy fog and drizzle are reducing visibility to around a mile or less in spots. The National Weather Service says the fog is expected to linger until mid-morning and advises motorists to use low beam headlights and be alert for changing visibility. Forecasters say there’s also a small chance of showers or thunderstorms this afternoon into early evening, mainly in the northeast and east. The risk of severe weather is low.

Looking ahead, there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms at times later this week, especially in northern Iowa.
