A Clarion performer is moving on in the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Iowa State Fair. 18-year-old, Makayla Beisel advanced to the semi-final round in the Senior division with a lyrical dance solo. She’s among five senior acts, ages 13 to 21, that will compete again later this week, along with five Sprout division acts for ages 2 to 12. The long-running talent competition has been a Fair tradition since 1960, showcasing young performers from across Iowa. More than $22,000 in prizes will be awarded before a Senior Champion is named on August 17 at the Anne and Bill Riley Stage.
