Drivers across Iowa are seeing a small drop at the pump this week. The statewide average for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.92, down four cents from last week and 34 cents lower than a year ago, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. According to the same report, diesel prices held steady at $3.56 per gallon, which is 16 cents below the national average. AAA notes the national gas price average is $3.16.

Crude oil prices also fell, with West Texas Intermediate at $62.38 per barrel and Brent crude at $65.43. Motorists are encouraged to compare local prices and practice fuel-efficient driving.

GasBuddy, a website and app that crowdsources fuel prices from drivers, shows local variations around $2.95 in Ackley, $2.99 in Grundy Center, and $3.02 in Allison. Prices at the pump can vary and change quickly, so GasBuddy prices are estimates and may not reflect current station pricing.
