NIACC Receives Top Recognition from Iowa Department of Education

In a recent Iowa Department of Education Community College Profile Report, North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) was ranked number one in student success and graduation rates.

Vice President of Student Development and Success at NIACC Dr. Rachel McGuire on the recognition for the college.

“One thing that every year we get high praises for and usually their first or second is our graduation rates, our transfer rates, and the student success rate,” says McGuire. “We’re just very proud this year that we have graduation and success rate being number one in the state as far as other community colleges.”

NIACC’s student success rate was 67.7 percent and their graduation rate was 60.1 percent in 2024-25. McGuire on what NIACC strives to provide their students.

“It just really says that we focus on our students. We focus on their success. I always say, when I’m talking to people about what we do here, is we take students where they are and we help them get to what they want to be.”

NIACC’s first day of classes for the Fall term will be August 25.
