A two-vehicle accident Thursday evening on Highway 65 north of Hampton caused property damage but no injuries. According to Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd, the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 65, south of 170th Street. 18-year-old Dillon Borchardt of Rockford was driving a 1999 Pontiac Firebird northbound when a section of his convertible roof or sunroof came loose. The piece struck a 2009 Kia driven by Dennis Kingery of Sheffield, damaging the hood and windshield.
Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. No citations were issued.
