A Marshalltown woman will spend six months in prison for stealing drugs while working as a nurse. Court records show 37-year-old Amanda Manatt worked as a registered nurse in the emergency rooms at Unity Point Marshalltown in 2023 and Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames in 2024. She took the painkillers fentanyl, hydromorphone, and morphine intended for patients, or overprescribed the medication and kept it for herself. Manatt then falsified the medical records to indicate the patients received the drugs. Manatt was also ordered to pay some 52-hundred dollars in restitution, and 58-hundred dollars in fines.
