The National Weather Service says patchy fog is reducing visibility across parts of north central Iowa this morning, including Hampton, Clarion, Allison and surrounding areas. Some locations may see visibility drop to a mile or less, so drivers are urged to use caution and low-beam headlights. Conditions should improve by mid-morning.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service also say an isolated thunderstorm may develop later today, but mainly south of the area with no severe weather is expected. Patchy fog could also be in the cards for a return Thursday morning. Looking ahead, thunderstorms are also possible Friday afternoon into the evening, and forecasters say the potential for severe weather will be evaluated in the coming days.
