A regular meeting of the Latimer City Council was held on August 13th at Latimer City Hall. City Clerk Melissa Simmons reported she is preparing the Annual Finance Report and Street Finance Report for fiscal year 2025. She also noted the certificates of deposit are coming due and will be renewed for another year. Simmons has also been filling in on mowing and watering duties during staff absence.
Simmons also read two thank-you letters recognizing Latimer’s efforts in hosting RAGBRAI, which Mayor Mark Johansen echoed by thanking the community and volunteers.
In other action, the council members approved corrected minutes from the July meeting, authorized payment of bills, and reviewed the city’s budget, revenue, fund balance, and outstanding obligation reports. The council also approved a reimbursement request for watershed mulch.
