A Waterloo man was sentenced August 13th to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a gang-related shooting.
Anthony Kyle O’Donnell, age 37, from Waterloo, Iowa pled guilty in November of 2024 to possession of a firearm by a felon.
Prosecutors said O’Donnell was one of four shooters who opened fire on a Waterloo home in August of 2022. Eight people, including a 2-year-old child, were inside when 34 rounds were fired into the house. Bullets struck the living room and a bedroom. Four occupants were injured by broken glass, and one person was grazed by a bullet.
DNA evidence linked O’Donnell to a stolen Beretta pistol used in the attack. After completion of the 180-month prison sentence, O’Donnell will serve three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
