Aplington City Hall’s landline service has been restored. City Clerk Michelle Thede confirmed to RadioOnTheGo News that phone lines were back up and running Monday morning.

The outage began last Thursday and affected Windstream Telephone customers in the community. Thede said the issue was first reported by a resident and continued through the end of the week.

During the disruption, residents needing to contact city hall were encouraged to stop in person, reach out through the city’s Facebook page, or email the clerk’s office. Normal telephone service is now available for those who need assistance.
