
A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute. 61-year-old Alan Eugene Beier was sentenced August 19th in Sioux City to 42 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Court records show that in September of 2024, Clear Lake Police stopped Beier on a motorcycle after a driving complaint. Officers found $864 in cash, along with 10 grams of cocaine, 82 grams of marijuana, and 235 grams of methamphetamine. Beier admitted he had purchased the drugs in Minnesota for $2,600 and planned to sell the meth in northern Iowa.
Beier remains in U.S. Marshal custody until he is transported to federal prison. There is no parole in the federal system.
The case was investigated by Clear Lake Police and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Northern Iowa.
