Clarksville residents will see a rise in their water bills. At their meeting this week, the Clarksville City Council approved a 3% increase, with additional 1% annual increases planned for the following two years. According to minutes from the meeting, Clerk Molly Bohlen and maintenance staff highlighted the need for upgrades to maintain reliable service, and council members said the hike is needed to cover rising supply costs and fund ongoing water system projects. All members present voted in favor of the increases.

Other business included approval of library trustee re-appointments, building permits for a home and a fence, as well as approval to remove some trees. The council also updated the EMS transport agreement and approved IT upgrades for city offices.

It was also noted that city elections are this year, and residents can pick up candidate paperwork for upcoming elections at City Hall through September 18.
