Farmers and ag professionals will have a chance to learn more about cover crops, manure application, and crop disease management during the annual Fall Field Day at the Borlaug Learning Center.

The event is set for Friday, Aug. 29, starting at 11 a.m. with presentations from Iowa State University experts, including conservation field specialist Ethan Thies, ag engineering specialist Dan Anderson, and field crop pathologist Alison Robertson. A complimentary lunch, sponsored by Wiffles Hybrids, will be served at noon.

Extension program coordinator in Butler County, Leslie Milius, says it’s a day packed with valuable information:

“…it should be a great learning day. It’s always wonderful to go to the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experiment, Station Research Farm, Borlaug Learning Center. It’s a beautiful place with, a great, spread of different things that they are doing there in terms of field studies.”

The event is free and open to the public. More with Leslie Milius can be heard on the August 19th edition of the Extension Report Podcast found at RadioOnTheGo.com, in the RadioOnTheGo mobile and TV apps and also available on Spotify.
