The Aplington-Parkersburg girls tennis team placed 15th at Saturday’s loaded Tulip City Tussle hosted by Pella.
In singles play, Megan Bruns and Jayden Krausman each lost their first two matches to advance to the C Flight consolation bracket. In that bracket, Bruns won her first match but was defeated in her second match. Krausman won two matches, and fell in the final to take the runner-up spot in the C Flight.
In doubles, Holly Haugstad/Amy Mulder and Aubrey Williamson/Kate Livingood each lost their first match. Both pairs went 1-1 in the B Flight, then advanced to the doubles pool, where they lost their first matches.
The results earned the team 3.5 points for the day. They’ll return to action Monday at 4:00 p.m. by hosting Union at the Aplington Recreation Complex.
