Franklin Co. Supervisors Approve Road Closures, Abatements, and Permit Applications

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors met Monday (Aug. 25) morning. Among actions taken, the board approved resolutions closing and vacating several streets in Burdette. Public hearings were held on the closures, but no comments were received.

The board also approved property tax abatements requested by the City of Hampton, covering parcels including the old Rick’s Pharmacy property on 1st Street NW and several vacant lots. In addition, a master matrix application for Summit Farm Pork LLC’s Franklin Scott 14 Site was recommended for approval.

In other business, the Franklin County Supervisors agreed to transfer $50,000 to support Franklin County Home Care, approved a utility permit for Mediacom, and heard updates from the Secondary Roads and Veterans Affairs departments. The Franklin County Board of Supervisors will next meet Tuesday, September 2, due to the Labor Day holiday.
