North-central Iowa can expect a calm stretch of weather over the next few days. The National Weather Service says a few isolated, non-severe thunderstorms may develop tonight and again Wednesday evening, but widespread rain or severe weather is not expected. Any showers that do form should be brief. Temperatures will stay near seasonal norms, making it a fairly typical late-August pattern.
