
The Aplington-Parkersburg fall sports teams that were in action Tuesday combined for a 4-0 day.
The girls tennis team grinded out a 5-4 home win over Independence. The Falcons won four singles matches and one doubles match. Jayden Krausman won 8-5 at #2 singles, Aubrey Williamson won 8-4 at #4, Kate Livingood won 8-1 at #5 and Amy Mulder won 8-2 at #6.
In the clinching doubles win, Holly Haugstad/Mulder won 8-4 at #3.
The #10 (2A) volleyball team started the season by winning a quad at Nashua-Plainfield. After a crucial win over #8 (2A) Jesup, the Falcons earned wins over Nashua-Plainfield and New Hampton, giving up just one set in the process.
They’ll return to action Saturday at a tournament at St. Edmond.
