
The #5 (2A) Grundy Center volleyball team earned three wins without dropping a set at its home quad Tuesday to begin the season.
The Spartans began the day with a ranked matchup against #14 (2A) Hudson. In a close one, they won 23-21, 24-22. They gained a little more breathing room in their next win. They defeated AGWSR 21-17, 21-10. To finish the night, they battled for a 21-14, 21-16 win over Waverly-Shell Rock. They’ll return to action Tuesday, September 2 by hosting Gladbrook-Reinbeck on 99 The Wave.
AGWSR was outmatched in their opener, 21-9, 21-10 against Waverly-Shell Rock. To finish their night, they fell 21-11, 21-13 to the Pirates. In their next action, they’ll join Iowa Falls-Alden at a triangular at South Tama Thursday.
