After two years, the Belmond-Klemme Broncos and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys will renew the Wright County Rivalry on Friday night in a non-conference matchup.

The Broncos come into the game looking to establish their running game behind a more experienced group of linemen. Running back Braeden Wright returns to the lineup after finishing last season as the team’s leading rusher. Also back in the lineup is Brody Heifner who finished last season as the team’s leading passer after throwing for 912 yards. Head Coach Josh Faaborg.

“Yeah. Last year, we really had to rely on on big plays. You know, we were really young and, things like that upfront. Started a couple freshmen, now that are returning as sophomores. We need to be able to run the ball more effectively and more consistently and really establish the run. So, you know, that’s offensively. I don’t know if I’d call that an identity, but definitely a focus for us.”

On the other side, the Cowboys enter the game looking to solidify their quarterback position, find more balance, and focus on physical play. Head Coach Caleb Vogel.

“You know, I just wanna be a hard nosed football team. You know, we we are in a spot where we haven’t really developed a true quarterback. We’d love to be more balanced. Not sure what that’s gonna look like week by week. You know, but just to be tough, you know, just to get up and run, you know, to block to to hit the holes right. You know, to be fundamentally sound, be disciplined in everything we do. So offensively, we’re just gonna come out every single night, do our stuff, play fast, play hard, and put points on the board.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Middle School on Friday.
