A public hearing on the matter of the adoption of plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs on the construction for the Franklin County courthouse roof was held Tuesday by the board of supervisors. The roof received wind and hail damage earlier this year.
Following a recommendation from the project engineer in August, the board had voted to reject all previously submitted bids and approved moving forward with updated bid documents and timelines. The board accepted bids through August 19th.
No public or written comments were received during the hearing Tuesday. The board then approved a resolution adopting the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs for the project. The board awarded the construction contract to Welter Construction of Elk River, Minnesota in the amount of $88,500.
The board also met with county engineer Jay Waddingham and approved a request from his department for a county work in the right-of-way permit for the city of Meservey to detour truck traffic for a water main project along county road S13.
