The #10 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball team went 1-1 in Tuesday’s home triangular, which was also the home opener. They began with a 2-0 win over Valley Lutheran, but fell 2-0 to #2 (1A) North Tama.
The Falcons put together as dominant of a match as ever in the opener, cruising 25-7, 25-4.
The Redhawks offered more of a challenge and handed the Falcons their first loss of the season. AP had an early lead, and most of the set was back-and-forth. North Tama made a late surge, and won 26-24 after AP sent it to bonus points. The Falcons couldn’t recover from a slow start in set 2, falling 25-18.
The Falcons (9-1) will return to action Thursday by hosting Columbus Catholic in the NICL-Central opener.
