North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Board of Directors member David Steffens has recently been honored with the 2025 Regional Trustee Leadership Award from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).
The annual award recognizes community college trustees, presidents, faculty and staff nationwide for exceptional contributions to students and their communities.
Steffens has served on NIACC’s board for more than 25 years, championing both students and the region. NIACC President Joel Pedersen praised Steffens for his service, saying he has emphasized “the importance of political and community advocacy in promoting student success.”
NIACC Board President Cathy Rottinghaus added, “For over 25 years, his leadership and advocacy have been instrumental in strengthening NIACC’s connection to the communities we serve.”
