The Iowa Falls Water Department will begin flushing water mains Monday, Sept. 8. The work is expected to continue through Thursday, Sept. 11.
Water may become discolored during the flushing process due to mineral buildup inside the mains. Periodic flushing helps clean the system and prevent discoloration during normal operations.
Residents who notice discolored water are advised to run cold water until it clears.
