Tonight (Mon. 9/8/25), the Clarksville City Council will meet with several important items on the agenda. The Council will review USDA loan and grant forms that could help the city purchase a new fire truck through a 0% interest loan with Butler-Bremer Communications.
The council will also hold the first reading of a water rate ordinance. Last month, the council approved a 3% increase in water bills, with additional 1% hikes planned in each of the next two years to cover rising supply costs and maintain the system. Tonight’s reading continues that process.
In other business, the Clarksville City Council will consider approving repairs to the Highway 3 sign lights after a lightning strike, authorizing tree removal, and setting Halloween trick-or-treating hours for Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a library and nursing home parade earlier that afternoon.
The Clarksville City Council meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
