
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors handled a full agenda during its meeting Sept. 8.
Supervisors approved two applications for work within county highway rights of way, including ditch cleaning along 180th Street and drainage tile work near Jonquil Avenue and 120th Street. They also approved a tax abatement for the city of Coulter on property at 117 Second Street.
Facilities Director Ryan Peterson reviewed engineering proposals for courthouse electrical upgrades. The board approved a design agreement with Vertical Design Services. Supervisors also amended the county’s elections security policy, updating who has access to the elections storage facility.
Other action included approving the fiscal 2025 urban renewal report and adopting a compromise settlement agreement related to the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center.
The board chose not to adjust liability limits on the county’s cyber policy.
