The leaders of two Iowa business groups say compared to national data, it appears Iowa’s job market is stable, but unresolved U-S tariff policies are a concern. In a story from our partners at Radio Iowa, Iowa Association of Business and Industry president Nicole Crain says the state’s manufacturers are seeing a softening in the national economy and while they support addressing unfair trade practices in other countries, they believe trade deals need to be finalized to end the uncertainty over tariffs.

Joe Murphy is president of the Iowa Business Council, which represents 21 of the state’s largest employers. Murphy says recent surveys indicate hiring trends among Iowa Business Council members are steady. Murphy and Crain made their comments this weekend on “Iowa Press” on Iowa P-B-S.
