A Hampton man has been sentenced to decades in prison for child sex abuse. According to KIMT News, 28-year-old Benjamin Harold Green was given up to 25 years in prison on each of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, to be served consecutively, and another 25 years on a third count, to be served concurrently. That amounts to a maximum of 50 years. Green must serve at least 70 percent of the time before being eligible for parole and will remain on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry upon release. He was also ordered to pay nearly ten thousand dollars to the Crime Victim Compensation Program.

Green, a former employee at Hampton Community Christian Daycare, was arrested in May of 2023 after being accused of having sexual contact with three children between 2014 and 2017.

As RadioOnTheGo News reported, Green was convicted in July after a jury trial that was moved to Worth County due to pre-trial publicity. A link to KIMT’s article and our previous coverage can be found at RadioOnTheGo.com.
