North Butler (4-5, 2-2 TIC-East) fell 3-0 to #3 (1A) Saint Ansgar at home on Tuesday. Addison Ulrich entered the week leading the Bearcats frontline with 46 kills. Zoey Thompson has kept the offense on track with 86 assists and 23 service aces. Head Coach Sarah Goodrich on adapting and bouncing back from mistakes as a team.
“They have great chemistry with each other. They trust each other. There’s a lot of people with new roles or different positions than the past. There’s going to be some times that there’s some miscommunications, but it’s truly just how they adapt with each other,” says Goodrich. “I think the biggest thing is they respect each other a lot and that they hold each other accountable. We talk about it every day, no point is earned without someone making a mistake, but it’s how you bounce back and return from that one mistake to keep on going.”
