The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors Monday will meet in regular session and will consider reports from the Environmental Health Service Manager concerning the manure management plan update for Research Farms LLC west site. The site is located about four miles northwest of Rockwell.

Manure from this site will be applied on ten fields in central Cerro Gordo County. The concerns with the plan being proposed include the city of Rockwell is located about a mile south of an application area, and public use areas within two miles of an application area include the Rockwell Aquatic Center, Linn Grove Country Club, Zeidler Park and Linn Grove Park and campground.

Tuesday, the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors will hold a special session and will canvass the results of the Swaledale special election held September 9th. The city was looking to fill two vacant seats. Unofficial results from the election show that Darwin Johnson was elected to fill a council vacancy for a term ending December 2025 and Darwin Hanson was elected to fill a vacancy for a term ending December 2027.

Both Monday’s regular session and Tuesday’s special session begin at 10:00 a.m. at the boardroom of the courthouse in Mason City.
