Iowa State University Extension is offering a new opportunity for women in agriculture with a Women Managing Farmland Forum set for Tuesday (9/17/25) at the Borlaug Learning Center on the Northeast Iowa Research Farm near Nashua. Butler County Extension Program Coordinator Lesley Milius says the day-long forum will cover a wide range of topics.
“It’s gonna be expert-led sessions on farmland leasing, conservation practices and farm transition planning, along with conversation, networking with other women that may be in the same boat as you are or those kinds of things. So it’s just a welcoming and informative space for women to learn.”
Milius says the forum is open to women landowners, farmers, those working in agriculture, or anyone with an interest in ag issues. The program includes expert-led sessions on leasing, conservation practices, and transition planning.
“What I like about these forums is you can find others that are in the same boat you are. And so it kind of helps to see what they might be doing and learn from them, get some tips and tricks of what you might want to do to make that transition.”
Registration is $25, which includes lunch. More details and sign-up information are available through local extension offices or online at the ISU Extension and Outreach website.
