
The Aplington-Parkersburg School Board met Monday.
Among the business items, they approved Monday, October 20 as the date for a public hearing on the proposed issuance of approximately $9,250,000 in infrastructure sales, services and use tax revenue bonds. They also approved an application to the School Budget Review Committee for the amount of $169,174.02 for special education deficit costs during the 2024-25 school year.
They also approved the continuation of a preschool and daycare agreement with Kidquest, the Fiscal Year 2024 audit report, and four FFA out of state travel requests, among other items.
During his report, Superintendent Travis Fleshner shared that facility planning open houses will be held at Parkersburg Elementary on Thursday, October 16 and Aplington Elementary/Middle School on Monday, October 27. He also shared that fall activities participation numbers are good, and that six new bus drivers have been certified.
