One of Iowa’s most decorated student-athletes has made his college athletics decision. Grundy Center senior Judd Jirovsky announced Wednesday that he’ll join the men’s golf program next school year at Stanford University.

A three-time state tournament medalist and 2023 state champion, Jirovsky will join one of the most prestigious universities in the world. The announcement comes in the final school year of a high school athletic career where Jirovsky has garnered numerous accolades in several sports. He’s been the quarterback of the football team since 2024 and was named last year’s Class 1A all-state team captain, has helped guide the boys basketball team to two straight state tournament appearances, has participated at the state level in track & field, and has earned baseball all-state honors.
In the immediate future, Jirovsky will be a key contributor as the 3-0 Spartan football team begins district play during a quest for a fourth consecutive state championship. They’ll host Garner Hayfield Ventura Friday night.
