The Clarksville football team will look to keep their rushing attack rolling after producing 830 yards on the ground over their last two games as they host Meskwaki Settlement in Eight Player District 8 play on Friday.
Clarksville (2-1, 2-0 8-6) won their second district game in a row, 78-50 at home over North Tama last week. The Clarksville offense has scored 76 or more points the last two weeks. Nathan Moon has paced the ground game with 777 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Head Coach Darren Bohlen says the team’s goal this week is to strengthen the fundamentals.
“Keep improving, opening up those holes and hopefully we can get a lot of playing time for our younger guys,” says Bohlen. “Take this week to focus on getting better fundamental wise, tackling, blocking and all that stuff. It’s gonna hopefully be a good week for us.”
Meskwaki Settlement (0-3, 0-2 8-6) fell 61-6 at home to Collins-Maxwell in district play last week. The Warriors have been limited to six points per game offensively and have allowed 61 or more points to opponents this season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Clarksville.
