CAL Elementary earned a “High Performing” designation in the latest Iowa School Performance Profiles, placing it among the top-rated schools in the state.
The CAL Community School District’s recognition reflects strong student achievement, growth, and engagement. Nearly 56 percent of Iowa’s 1,276 public schools were rated in the top three categories this year, with more than 41 percent moving up at least one level from last year.
Principal Abby Meyer credited CAL’s students, teachers, staff, and families for the honor. She said the staff uses evidence of student learning every day to ensure instruction is targeted, effective, and responsive, adding the rating is a reflection of the community’s support.
The Iowa School Performance Profiles measure multiple indicators of student success, including proficiency and growth in reading, math, and science, as well as attendance and engagement.
