The Dike-New Hartford girls tennis team scored a 5-0 victory over Hampton-Dumont-CAL in Saturday’s 1A Region 7 first round dual at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.
The Wolverines won each of the completed matches by 2-0 sweeps. In fact, the Bulldogs managed to win just two games total. DNH has advanced to Wednesday’s regional semifinal against Independence, which will be played at Byrnes Park.
In the same region, Aplington-Parkersburg fell 5-0 at St. Edmond. Iowa Falls-Alden fell 5-2 at Kuemper Catholic to end their season.
In Region 6, Grundy Center fell 5-0 at Boone. Aubrey Sadler was the only Spartan to win a set, falling in a tiebreaker at #3 singles.
