Eagle Grove will receive $1.75 million in federal funding to help revitalize one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.
The award comes through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Comprehensive Neighborhood Revitalization Grant fund.
Debi Durham, who leads the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Finance Authority, said the funding helps communities revitalize older neighborhoods, draw in new residents and businesses, and build stronger foundations for future growth.
Plans for Eagle Grove include improving upgraded streets, safer pedestrian pathways and an improved stormwater system to reduce flash flooding. Enhancements are also planned at Fish Pond Park, with a revitalized walking and biking path, new playground equipment and a new basketball court.
