The #9 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball team will host Hudson Tuesday for an NICL-Central match.
The Falcons (19-5, 1-1 NICL-C) are coming off a 6-0 outing at Saturday’s tournament at Gladbrook-Reinbeck, where they swept the final three matches. One of the key contributors lately has been junior outside hitter Adri Allan, who’s now second on the team in kills and led the team twice Saturday. Head Coach Candace Kleespies says Allan has taken a big step.
“We’ve really tried to take the time with each hitting group and tried to kind of iron out some of those small things so that we can get better touches on that third ball,” Kleespies says. “I feel like Adri did a good job of bringing those over to the game and executing that. She still has a couple balls that she would definitely like back, but she was one that definitely transitioned it over to the game and executed.”
Hudson (18-7, 1-2 NICL-C) will play its first match in a week, having been swept by #1 (2A) Denver on Tuesday, September 16. Two freshmen lead the offense, with Paige Davis and Natalie Rausch each averaging over two kills per set.
The first serve will be at approximately 7:30 p.m.
